Welcome to George Mason University's United Greek Council website! My name is James Nguyen and I am the current President of the United Greek Council. It is my pleasure to invite you to explore our website and learn more about our mission, organizations, and what it means to be a member of the United Greek Council. 

 

Currently we are the governing council for 12 identity and cultural interest-based organizations. Interest-based organizations allow for anyone from any background to join and be a part of the space and community we have at GMU. Each organization is tied to their own philanthropy, mission statement, pillars, and purpose which allows for a plethora of educational, exciting, and fun events each semester! Ranging from Asian interest to Latinx interest to GMU's first LGBTQIA+ Sorority, we are incredibly honored to have such a diverse group of members and student leaders who work tirelessly for the growth and betterment for our Mason community. While each organization is unique in our own way, we are united in our efforts to create a safe, welcoming, and open space in greek life for anyone who wants to join. Feel free to click through the organizations page to learn more about each of our organizations!

I was very blessed to join my fraternity, Lambda Phi Epsilon International Fraternity Inc during the Fall 2020 semester. As a rising sophomore, whose college experience has been tremendously hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic, my fraternity, and the United Greek Council have both provided a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to connect with other like-minded students and develop my skills. Everyone within the United Greek Council, both alumni, and undergraduates, has made a valuable experience for me during my time here, serving the council as a Representative, Secretary, and now President. The amount of love and support everyone within the council has for each other is truly remarkable and the council represents a home away from home for many of our members. Every person in the council has a different story and experience regarding the council but one thing I can say for my council is that we are very supportive of each other and strive to make an impact on our community. If you are looking for a place to belong or a home, or simply just want to make the best of your college experience, I encourage you to check out our lovely council and all the amazing organizations within it, you will not be disappointed!
